i am proud of him
Contrary to what many people say and think, I do not see myself in my brother.
I was smiling in awe as I watched my brother deliver his valedictory speech last night. I can judge he is a better speaker than me.
Many people say that my brother is following my footsteps. I say, partly yes, for there are many other things that my brother can do better than I can. And that is one of the reasons that make proud of him. While others so think that I am versatile, my brother is more versatile than I am. I can assure you that. You can put him anywhere: in the dancefloor, in the videoke bar, on the stage, in front of the camera. I may be a better writer, reader, or teacher compared to him, but what ever gift my brother has will always be something very special and admirable.
Perhaps I have more stocks of patience in my pocket, but it is my brother who possesses high aptitude level.
After all, the issue would not be I seeing myself in him, nor he seeing himself in mine. Neither would it be I being better than him or he being better than me. The thing of significance is that we are different from each other, and we celebrate these differences. We work with interdependence, we support each other and share what we have for each other’s betterment.
