Adjustment Period

Posted in Humor at 8:55 pm by erald17

I do not know if I would be writing, as much as I had been, in the following months. Maybe I will miss this (hope not that much) as much as my regular readers would. I got my first job last Monday. I am actually starting my training already. And tomorrow I am going to the U.S. Embassy to apply for my US Visa. If the Visa would be granted, then I will be in the U.S. from next week until mid-July. (Again, I grieve over being not able to celebrate the first anniversary with my loving bf.) But if the Visa would not be granted, then I would just be around.

Nevertheless, I am loving the fact that I have to work in order to gain. And that I have to travel six hours a day for my training because I haven’t found an apartment near our office yet. I love being tired, because it simply means that I am doing something. And I would like to have the challenge of making both ends meet. I would love being able to support myself (and my family) with my own means and efforts. I would love to learn the job, work with newly met people and appreciate them individually at the same time.

I would love the new experience and learning, the new challenges and discoveries. I would just love every step of the way.

P.S. By the way, it’s nice to sleep in the bus, really.

Supportive BF

Posted in Humor at 8:35 pm by erald17

“Daddy (a term of endearment for my bf), di ka ba sad kasi, if ever, two months tayong di magkikita? And madedelay ang pagtutuloy ko ng law?”

“I am happy for you. Rare kaya ang ganyang opportunities. Habang bata ka pa at maraming opportunities, go lang nang go.”

Since my bf and I have been on, we were together most of the time. He was assigned in an airbase located within our province, and working out the relationship has always been easy. We had been going out for quite a few times: outing, malling, shopping, attending the mass, attending occasions, parties and gathering, visiting relatives, and many more innumerable activities. We were an item; we were a couple. “Package deal” as others would call it. I would attend his R&R and I was also with him during some of their visits to other bases where they were given privilege to bring along loved ones or relatives.

We made other military couples jealous since we were fortunate enough to be in the same location and, as said, we were together most of the time. Most of our “monthsaries” we celebrate them together.

Until my applications to law schools are going on. We made a presumption that we would be quite far away from each other and would see each other less, and less. Otherwise unless he would have his flying lessons in the base located in the capital, i.e. subject to his future assignments. The thing, whether we like it or not, we would be 50kms away from each other at least in the meantime.

Especially so when I applied for job in M.M. And more especially so when I am being hired by this company where I will be working as L.E. (a job that is my interest) for about two years. And not just 50kms, but miles and miles, away when I am being offered with a two-month training in W.Va., U.S.A. And, if that would push through, provided that there would not be any problems with my requirements and visa application, then it means that we will not be celebrating our FIRST ANNIVERSARY together! I’ll be in the US on May16-July16 or June8-August8. (still keeping my fingers crossed, still praying and praying hard…)

That also means to say that I will be setting aside law school in the mean time. And if my schedule for this year would permit, I have plans to take master’s degree for my continuous progress. Needless to say supporting my brothers’ education and saving little by little for myself.

Fortunate for having a supportive boyfriend. Well, I am supportive of him too. ;p He wouldn’t mind me being far away, simply because we need to get accustomed to that set-up taking into consideration the nature of his “ultimate” job.

Yeah, I need to grab opportunities like these. “An opportunity lost is lost forever.”

I know that law school can wait for me. I know.

So help me God!

PATER NOSTER

Pater noster, qui es in caelis, sanctificetur nomen tuum.

Adveniat regnum tuum.

Fiat voluntas tua, sicut in caelo et in terra.

Panem nostrum quotidianum da nobis hodie,

et dimitte nobis debita nostra sicut et nos dimittimus debitoribus nostris.

Et ne nos inducas in tentationem, sed libera nos a malo.

Job Interview Tomorrow

Posted in Humor at 11:43 pm by erald17

I have job interview tomorrow, and I am very very excited to get the job.

Yesterday I took a written exam at this company in M. (the one I was not able to account in the past few days). I applied for the job of L.C.E. The other day, May 5, I received a message requesting me to take the exam. It was scheduled at 9a.m. I left Batangas City fifteen minutes short of 6am and arrived at the place about 7:30a.m. So it means I waited at the office for an hour and a half. It was not boring though because I brought books with me and I was able to have a chat with other applicants. When the clock struck 9:00 the first thing I had to do was to fill out the application form. Afterward, we were handed with the test questionnaires. It took me about an hour to finish the examinations. When I turned in my papers, together with my resume, the examiner asked me if I h.p.a. I do have so I said yes. Then, she asked me to take my lunch first and be back at 1p.m. because she will giving me more examinations. She explained that they are also l.f.b.g.w.a.h.p. All right so I did what was instructed.

At 12:20p.m. I returned to the office to wait for the time. Again I was able to chat with more applicants, most of which are law graduates.

I took the next examinations for almost four hours. They were composed of tests on S.,G., C.A.,and C.A., some of which I was quite not knowledgeable of. I gave myself the benefit of the doubt since I knew that the most difficult parts of the exam are intended for graduates of law. Nevertheless, I did what I had to do and finished the exam the way I could. Other applicants were already complaining and chose not to finish the exam. When I heard the examiner said, “Malay nyo maipasa nyo, pupunta kayo ng America.” So in spite of the little knowing of some questions, I was motivated to persevere and try my very best. I was telling myself while reading the case, “Galingan mo, galingan mo, U.S.A. ang katumbas nyan. Kelangan mo galingan kasi kapag naipasa mo, makakapunta ka sa America.” So I did answer all the questions in the best way that I can and maximized the time to go over my answers.

Finally, at 4:40 in the afternoon, I decided to save my final work and leave the computer set to approach the examiner. She finally told me that they will just be calling me as to the result of my exams. I asked how many days it usually takes to get the results. She answered that it doesn’t take long; it will be released within the week. So I finally thanked the examiner and bid her goodbye.

I directed to B., ordered dinner at KFC and headed finally back to Batangas City, tired and sleepy; I could hardly reply to text messages while on the way home.

Today, at around 4:00 in the afternoon, I received a message from Ms.X, who I believe to be the p.h., confirming i.I.d.h.p. Again I replied yes. Then she sent another message requesting me for an interview tomorrow, 11a.m. at their office.
